A political science don at Makerere University, Prof Yasin Olum, has opined that the current fault lines within the ruling party have been precipitated by a culture of intolerance and fear of competition within a multiparty dispensation. This comes after the Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi who also holds the powerful docket as Secretary General came under a barrage of criticism after he was accused of using party structures to seek the presidency. The ruling party caucus has also unanimously endorsed that Mbabazi faces the NRM party disciplinary committee.
