Two lawyers on Go Forward leader Amama Mbabazi’s legal team in his petition challenging the victory of President Museveni have had their offices broken into and dozens of key documents taken.
Former Premier, Amama Mbabazi, says he could sue the Electoral Commission in the courts of law for violating his inherent right. In a letter written to the Chairperson Electoral Commission, Mbabazi, through his lawyers says he is within the confines of the law. One of his lawyers, Fred Muwema, was reacting to comments attributed to the EC publicist, Jotham Taremwa, in the Daily Monitor where he was quoted as saying Mbabazi was out of order for announcing his candidature before the electoral body had released the campaign program. Taremwa says he did not make comments attributed to him.
