
Mbabazi lawyers petition court to block Museveni 2016 presidential bid – NTV

Lawyers affiliated to former premier Amama Mbabazi have amended a constitutional petition they had earlier filed in the Constitutional Court, arguing that the president should not contest the 2016 elections because he will be physically unfit to finish his term of office, if he is re-elected. Last month, Constitutional court’s Justice Steven Kavuma threw out an injunction filed on behalf of Benjamin Alipanga, a cog of Mbabazi, who is challenging the appointment of the new NRM Secretariat. Mbabazi’s sister in-law, former Agriculture minister, Hope Mwesigye, has joined the fray as she filed an affidavit backing the application.
